Gail Faulkner, MS, (TOD), Grant Writer
Gail is a professional at writing grants. She understands the needs of urban youth and families and seeks funding from sources that have the same heart for the city as UFC. Although money is important to fulfill our mission, Gail knows that’s not the only thing we’re after. UFC is about the business of reaching hearts and minds and ensuring a safe and healthy future for the next generation.
Judy Landis, MAR, Executive Assistant
Judy comes to UFC with 22 years of urban ministry experience, including urban community outreach, specifically in public housing neighborhoods; African American mission mobilization; and short term mission team facilitation. Living, worshipping, and working here in the city, Judy enjoys networking and bringing together groups of people who may not regularly have opportunity to interact. Judy is a graduate of Eastern University and Westminster Theological Seminary and is on the adjunct faculty at Eastern in the Youth Ministry Department. She is enjoying her new administrative role at UFC and is available to answer questions and connect you with resources.
Jill Page, MMT, Director of Education
Jill has served UFC since 1991. Her faithfulness to the cause of building healthy families and her devotion to children and teens is evident as she teaches in schools and churches; trains new staff, designs new programs, and assists with fundraising efforts. Jill especially enjoys working with small groups because of the opportunity to build relationships and connect with teens on a more personal level.

Mike Sturdivant, Manager, Education
Mike has a passion for helping children. As a UFC educator, he is in the midst of children from grades K-12 and is able to interact and minister to each with the love of Christ. Some say Mike is a real clown, and he is just that as he dons his lovable “Little Lou” costume at conferences and assemblies. His magnetic personality draws a happy crowd every time. Mike has received Primary Level 1 Abstinence Education Certification from Abstinence Clearinghouse.

Tosha Kenion, Educator
Although Tosha has worked in various fields throughout her career, her passion is teaching and working with women and children. As a UFC educator, opportunities abound to teach youth and adults about the healthy types of love, dating & relationships via UFCs programs like Moving Ahead with Purpose, Growing Up Takes Time and Why Am I Tempted? (WAIT Training). Tosha’s compassion and motherly instincts touch students’ hearts and help build bridges to communication. Tosha has received Primary Level 1 Abstinence Education Certification from Abstinence Clearinghouse.
Whitney Monn, BA, Educator
Whitney felt a call early to work with urban youth. After a temporary move to the Bronx, NYC developing and administering Bible clubs for local children, she heard about the work Urban Family Council was doing in Philadelphia and pursued an internship. In January 2009, Whitney became a full-time educator with UFC. Daily she engages her students in discussion of the issues they struggle with and helps them think them through to a healthy logical end. Whitney
has received Primary Level 1 Abstinence Education Certification from Abstinence Clearinghouse.
Michael Gaskins, BS, Lead Volunteer Coordinator
Michael Gaskins’ background as founder and executive director of Philadelphia Alive Center for Transformation (PACT), whose mission is transforming prisoners into people of purpose, prepared him well for his new role as Lead Volunteer Coordinator for UFC’s newly granted Mentoring Children of Prisoners program, entitled I-MPACT Lives! As PACT worked to help prisoners rehabilitate and reintegrate into Philadelphia society, so too I-MPACT Lives! works to positively impact youth as they advance toward adulthood. Michael’s past work also includes tracking the performance and financial sustainability of third world country organizations and broadcast journalism at local news affiliates CBS, NBC, COMCAST cable network and WHYY-TV.
Lisa Cheston, Educator
Students love Lisa’s radiant smile, radical sophistication, and realistic style. To the male students, she is respected and cultured. To the female students, she is an example who is always willing to lend an ear or even wipe a tear. Her soft-spoken voice brings a peaceful and secure calm into every situation. Lisa is consistent and always ready to offer Godly wisdom when given the opportunity. Considering it a privilege to impact a small segment of Philadelphia’s youth, she serves in the Youth-Net Center at Olney High School.
Maggie Gallo, BFA, Graphic Communications
Since Maggie joined UFC in 1995, she has worn many different hats each with the same goal: to inform the public about the life-affirming services UFC provides to youth and families in Philadelphia and beyond. She uses her graphic design skills to create informational, marketing and fundraising materials, including this website.
Brady Goodwin, BS, Educator
Brady Goodwin, co-founder of the Grammy Award-winning Christian rap/recording
ministry The Cross Movement, has traveled the US and abroad for fourteen years speaking to youth and young adults about the integration of faith and culture while earning a Bachelor's Degree from Lancaster Bible College in the Science of the Bible and Pastoral Ministry. Brady serves UFC in the Youth-Net Center at Olney High School teaching character formation to youth and young adults. Brady has received Primary Level 1 Abstinence Education Certification from Abstinence Clearinghouse.
Alonzo Johnson, BS, Educator
Alonzo Johnson connects with urban youth on many levels. As a native North Philadelphian he understands the mindset of today’s youth and knows first-hand the conditions they encounter daily. He is a powerful communicator who serves with humility and vigor. Alonzo’s schedule is full as he fulfills the roles of Youth Pastor at Germantown Christian Assembly, part-time educator for UFC and father of five.
Carla Wertz, BA, Grant Assistant
Carla came to UFC as an intern in January 2008, staying on fulltime upon graduation in June that same year. Although her public relations and copywriting skills are invaluable, her greatest asset is her willingness to serve. Carla single-handedly launched UFC's first Silent Auction which was a great success. Thanks, Carla! Keep up the good work.
